2000 Mile Marker..
The ride from New Orleans today was made particularly hard solely due the fact we just partied too hard in Bourbon Street last night! The weather was really disappointing too, overcast complete grey skies and some rain. We headed out over the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway which is composed of two parallel bridges crossing Lake Pontchartrain in southern Louisiana. The longer of the two bridges is 23.83 miles long! It would have been amazing to have ridden across it in the sunshine instead of rain. To make matters worst shortly after leaving the hotel Jon was resetting his trip meter as he rode along and the sprung button sprung off hitting his boot on the way down and never to be seen again, or so we thought.

Nice job. Hard to believe it has been 2000 already.
ReplyDeleteCheers Trobairitz, we are starting to slow up now. I think it's the initial excitement of riding these American roads…… you just don't want to stop.
DeleteThe weather is what it is. Gotta keep on truckin'.
ReplyDeleteBeing British we did come well prepared for rain, so we promise to keep on pushing through, except if we come across snow or a tornado!
Delete2,000 miles already! How did that happen so quickly?
ReplyDeleteHi Gary…..time fly's when you're having fun, and so do the miles. Things are starting to slow down now we are in Clarksdale for a few days then only a 76 miles ride to Memphis for a few days.

ReplyDeleteWe can't keep this up Alex, we'll be dead from liver failure at the end of 3 months!
