La Push, "La Push….Baby!" Video & Photo's

After getting our second hair-cut in the town of Forks today (the first being way back in Winslow, Arizona) we headed for the beach.

La Push Beach is a series of beach chains called Beach one, two, and three. Beach one is fourteen miles, beach two is thirteen, and beach three is twelve miles away from the town of Forks, located along the Pacific Coastline of Washington State, near the most western point of the continental United States.

What a stunning, almost unspoilt place.  We were amazed by the volume of dead trees washed up on the beaches.   The native American Quileute Tribe has lived in this area for over 1000 years which brings a sort of mystery and legend to the whole area.  After enjoying all the surroundings we headed for Port Angeles for the evening and night before catching a ferry tomorrow to Vancouver Island

Notice the seal lion in the photo above jumping out of the water

  1. Great pics John, didn't see the seal lion though - just a big bird flying by?!

  2. John:

Too bad you weren't there on an angry day. The wave action would have been spectacular. There is an island just off the shore at Rialto Beach. and there use to be a village at the top accessed from the ocean side a lower tide.

On the West coast of Vancouver Island, at Tofino you will see the same volume of dead trees washed up on the beach.

    1. Thanks again Bob for the tip off to get ourselves out to these beaches and also the 'end of the road' on highway 112.

  3. Nice photos despite the dreary looking day. Love the video. Great resolution. You guys could build one heck of a bonfire with all that firewood.

I made my cross country trip on "one" haircut at the Florida halfway point ... but probably came home shaggier than you guys. Getting a haircut on the road reminds me of the "haircut song" at this youtube link:
