Carmel-by-the-Sea, great food, great wine, great accommodation...

World-renowned Carmel-by-the-Sea has inspired artists, sparked romances, and attracted celebrities for decades. Clint Eastwood was once the Mayor of the town and I think still lives in Carmel.  He used to own a bar a restaurant called the "Hogs Breath" but we were told he sold it a few years back.   Rated a top-10 destination in the U.S. year after year, Carmel-by-the-Sea is an amazing, European-style village nestled above a picturesque white-sand beach where everything is within walking distance. It is also the 5th largest art market in the entire USA.

Just about on every corner of the town you'll find privately owned guest houses and inns.  We stayed here, just a 2 minute walk from many wine bars and restaurants and wonderful art galleries.

Even though Clint Eastwood no longer owns the Inn it still has many pictures and photos of him around the place spanning his hollywood career, and a great bar and good food. We had an enjoyable  lunch there.

Dirty Harry fame…."do you feel lucky punk…?"

This was such a romantic statue in the middle of the village reminding us all what the really important things in life are about - relationships and love.
