Time has come to leave Key West, but we'll be back one day for sure. We start our journey towards New Orleans taking three days getting into the "Big-Easy." Our first leg takes us to the town of Naples on Florida's west coast riding through the Everglades National Park and the Big Cypress National Preserve. It's a ride of approximately 238 miles. We have the joy of riding north across the ocean highway once more and a stop for lunch in Key Largo and refuel. We head west to a very small town called Ochopee where we hope to catch a ride on an Air-boat, skimming across the Everglades at unnatural speeds will be a thrill! We should make it into Naples by late afternoon just in time for a long cool G&T.
Beware of the most dangerous animal of the Everglades: the mosquito. They come in swarms and eat you alive.
ReplyDeleteThanks SonjaM for the tip. We must stop at a drugstore and get some repellent.
ReplyDeleteSmoking your cigars will help too, but definitely get some spray
