Today we clocked up 5000 miles since leaving Orlando on the ride down from the Grand Canyon to Kingman back onto Route 66. We are only now 340 miles from the west coast and the Pacific Ocean…….that's cool!
As is tradition here are the bikes near a town called Ash Fork. This section of Route 66 is the best. It runs for about 100 miles from Ash Fork to Kingman, Arizona. It is away from the Interstate-40 so you get a real sense of what it must have been like for all those folks that migrated from the East and the Mid-West to a better life in California or wherever they chose to stop all those years ago. The road is in good condition and with very little traffic on it and thankfully even less commercial traffic and big trucks.
